The hostel was originally built as a wool store. In 1995, Frank and Maria Murphy refurbished the building, retaining the stone facade and creating the atmosphere of a townhouse. The business grew with tourism in East Cork and 2003 saw the opening of an extension which includes a modern kitchen and dining room which caters for groups.
